NAM Shipped N95 $560 Deal: Nokia For 8GB Monday This Five (N95-4)
As you can see, I love this phone!
This is a one time deal and I don’t think I’ll be able to get them at this price again. They’re brand new and comes with Nokia’s one year warranty. The bad news is that I can not ship anything outside of the United States… yet.

You can read my first impressions on Nokia N95 8GB and articles I wrote about the N95-4. If you look around other stores, the lowest price is at least $600.
I’ll be getting in five North American Nokia N95 8GB (N95-4) on Monday, May 19th, and will be selling them for $560 each. If you have any questions just post them below.
I’ll be working hard this summer to bring more phones and deals to my readers.
Symbian has passed 200 million lifetime shipments, which makes it 3rd most succesful (when counting the amount of devices) platform in the mobile space. J2ME is clearly leading, and Flash Lite comes after that with about 600 million devices having Flash pre-installed.
Ugur has an excellent post about problems with Flash Lite 3.0 player. The security sandbox that comes with Flash Lite 3.0 (that is based on Flash 8 player) player has severe consequences regarding networked Flash Lite applications, usage of Trusted folder in Symbian S60, and usage of XML sockets.
Lite and Layouts Dynamic Flash
Via Bill, there is a new article in Adobe Developer Center: Developing Flash Lite applications with dynamic layouts. Written by David Brown (from agencynet.com), and in this 5 page tutorial he describes the process of creating the Bacardi® Mobile Cocktail application, including reacting to environment changes (like current time of day), and how to implement automatic Stage size and orientation switching. This tutorial is for Flash Lite 2.0 and newer.
Vlog: No Leads Lens Scratches Cover To Eventually
After watching my video, do you think a lens cover protection is necessary on our phones?
I thought the people who complained about missing lens cover on the Nokia N95’s were a bunch of crybabies until I took a closer look at the Web High Quality, Mobile, Youtube, Share Ovi.
The photos of the lens are below. He disagrees with the decision. It probably does.
Nokia claimed that they dropped the lens cover due to popular demand according to Jeremiah from Nokia Users. No protection on the lens eventually leads to scratches. Nothing major, but it can be avoided with proper protection. However, this is a review unit that’s been passed along other people.
You can’t really see the scratches until you hold it up close and I’m not sure if it affects the quality on the pictures and movies.

N82 Camera Battery and Nokia Trial
I like to use the User Defined mode, but it takes three clicks to activate.
Another thing I’d like to see would be keypad shortcuts.
I was going to write about my experience with the Nokia N82 at a sporting event, but instead I want to share my experience at a concert last Saturday and more specifically with the camera and battery life. I didn’t need my Proporta Mobile Charger at all.
I don’t like the auto mode much. Kind of strange how the S60 browser has keypad shortcuts, but the camera doesn’t.
I don’t like the placement of the lanyard hole. Since I wasn’t driving, I took a few pictures while on the freeway. I think it caused the bubbles seen above. The Nokia N82 got a good capture of the lights here:
and here
The Nokia N82 flash performance was hit and miss. My left hand shakes due to the pressure required to press the capture button while maintaining a good grip. It would be really nice if the camera application could remember your last settings. It forces the Nokia N82 to be worn with the left hand if using a wrist strap.

In the end, I noticed bubbles appeared on a few pictures, but I was really happy with the battery performance.
Before you read on, you may be interested in checking my review of the black Nokia N82.
Usage
I left my house around 6:30PM. I took over 100 pictures and when I came home around 1:00 AM, I still had 3 bars left. I have gotten the hang of one handed shooting with my right hand, but this makes my wrist strap useless.
Despite these problems, the Nokia N82 is a still a joy to use and I can’t wait to buy a black one for myself. Here, I got a great shot of this guy using his Nokia N93:
However, I turned around and got this horrible shot of the crowd:
When the house lights came on, the flash caused some strange bubbles:
Thoughts
I was really happy with the battery performance. This was one of my faves:

2.0 Mapsters Preview: Website Nokia Maps
Launching tomorrow, May 23rd, is The Mapsters website. I had the opportunity to preview the Mapsters before the launch. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
For a preview, check out this screencast I made of the section where one of the Mapsters is showing us the navigation feature. I’m not sure if I didn’t have enough breakfast because I’m getting a headache listening to their voices. Are you getting a headache yet?
