Verizon: on Flash Cast Dashboard
It seems to be open for all developers: Bill wrote: “There is now more details available about Dashboard, the tools for creating and testing channel content and how to contact Verizon Wireless about getting started. Via Bill Perry/Adobe, Dashboard - a Flash Cast channels on Verizon - has been announced. Once a developer is accepted by Verizon Wireless to participate in the Dashboard program, they will then receive access to our new tools, testing server, documentation, discussion forums and other information. Verizon Wireless has updated their developer center TheZON with a new section for Dashboard and we’ve also updated our Flash for Verizon Wireless developer page on our site with additional details. So you probably have some initial questions: When will Dashboard be available? Mid-2008. What devices will it be available on? We can’t share that information at this time but we’re recommending the LG VX8700 handset as a reference device for development and testing based on the hardware and screen characteristics. What’s a channel? You can think of them as being similar to widgets but channels are more expressive. Mobile AppBuilder includes a Flash Cast client emulator that runs on your desktop as well as Flash Cast device profiles. What is the difference between Flash Cast and Flash Lite? Flash Cast is a client+server solution and Flash Lite is a client only solution. “ It’s the rich experience that brands and developers create which renders a data feed. Dashboard users will be able to have multiple channels available to them on their handset. What do I need to do to get started? Use Flash CS3 Professional, together with Mobile AppBuilder, to create, assemble, test, and preview channels locally on your desktop. Read the information on the Verizon Wireless Dashboard Developer site and contact Verizon Wireless to apply to be a channel developer. What is Mobile AppBuilder? Mobile AppBuilder is is the new PC-based tool created to streamline the workflow for channel development.

Components speed up development and help make coding tasks easier. component: Topic: “Components and reusable code are important aspects to developing applications for any platform, including Flash Lite 1.1. Even though Flash Lite 1.1 is not as robust for application development compared to higher versions, it is still useful to have Flash Lite 1.1 components and is important to consider techniques for developing them.”

We’re back
Hi, we are back — it has been hectic workwise, we have moved to new office, and had little holiday as well

Hike With Area Nokia Unique Rock Castle N95: The First
You can also change views or zoom in. My boots were too heavy and it tired me out right after we started. Recording Hike With Sports Tracker The hike was recorded with GPS data using Nokia Sports Tracker. Introductory was definitely not easy. Take a look at the photos below and Flickr will show you the location in the photo’s exif data. I’m currently taking a hiking class and will be hiking every Sunday until May. For the next hike, I need to bring better shoes. The first hike was in Castle Rock Unique Area in Philipstown, NY, which is about an hour and a half north of New York City. The introductory hike was 2 miles with a vertical height of 700 feet. Subscribe to the Nokia blog feed to watch my progress. On the upcoming Nseries phones, this will be done automatically without installing another program! Thoughts I was able to record my hike’s path, take GPS-tagged photos, and stream live videos to the internet. May not be visible in RSS readers. Streaming Live With Qik I was also streaming live videos using Qik, but decided only to do it in safer trails because I did not want to get hurt if I lost my footing and needed to hold on to something. All the photos were tagged with the current GPS location. If you would like to know how to do this on your blog, read my guides on embedding geotagged photos and embedding sports tracker data to your blog. Below is a map of the hike showing geotagged photos right on the map. I have the Nokia N95 NAM with me to record the hike, stream live videos, and take geotagged pictures. Streaming live videos during a hike with the Nokia N82 in the United States will be useless. The next hike for next Sunday is at Popolopen Gorge with the distance of 5 miles and 1,000 feet vertical rise. My N95 NAM also have faster internet connection due to the North American 3G. I know the Nokia N82 was marketed for this kind of usage, but any phone running S60 3rd edition is capable. You can view one of the videos below. Geotagging Photos With Location Tagger I was also running Location Tagger on my Nokia N95 while taking pictures. I don’t want to get too technical with this post so head over to S60 to learn more about it. It’s good to know that I was able to do all of this at the same time using a device that I carry around every day: my mobile phone. Vlog: of The Dark Speed
Well, I’ve actually got the speed for you, and believe it or not, it was captured with my Nokia N95-NAM! Well, have you ever wondered what the speed of dark is? And no, he wasn’t offended nor saddened by my little tasteless joke. He’s always claiming that he’s a tad bit darker than us so I took the shot while I could. You can never underestimate the power of the Nokia N95 (any variation). As we all know, the speed of light in a vacuum is 299,792,458 metres per second (as per wiki, lol). Go DARK after the jump Lol, that was our buddy Andrew.
