He is impressed overall, but do not like the built-in keyboard and the limited free GPS software. Ryan Paul from Ars Technica unboxes and gives his first impressions of the Nokia N810. He also includes plenty of pictures of the unboxing and even compared its size to the Nokia N800. Nokia N810 package contents. I played with an Nokia N800 before and the Nokia N810 was definitely thinner. I’m interested in what else Ryan has to say about the tablet. Unusual Accessory After we got our tickets, we headed upstairs to our seats. AAHHH… so it was a hands free accessory that lets you watch movies or videos up close… really close to your face. In short, it is an annual 3-week festival showing off emerging and pioneering artists in film, theater and music. There was also a flat screen TV behind the devices that showed Steve Garfield’s video on how to shoot, edit, and post video with the Nokia N95. It was the first time I’ve met Zach, whose blog, Symbian in Motion, I frequently read to find out what stuff I can install on my phones. It would be like a moving tripod. You can find this application on the North American Nokia N95-3. We took a few pictures inside. Pretty cool idea to transform the stage into a dance floor. On our way out, we were told that we would get free gifts if we had Nokia phones. I was also able to briefly play with the Nokia N810 and compare the Nokia N95 8GB to my Nokia N95-3. Very enthusiastic about the Nokia N810. As we entered the theater, I saw an Nseries booth that lets people try out the Nokia N810, Nokia N800, Nokia N95-3, and Nokia N73 Music Edition. I told myself to find out at intermission. The show lineup that night was nothing to get excited about, but I particularly enjoyed listening to Nullsleep playing music from programmed Game Boy cartridges! During intermission, I approached the woman with the unusual accessory and asked what it was. I should have taken a picture of their faces when four out of the of five us took out Nokia N95’s! Nokia Symbian-Freak by N82 Preview: Impressions Hands On
What makes this new Nokia Nseries device stands out? But that’s not all! Symbian-Freak has an early review of the Nokia N82. People might be disappointed that the screen is only 2.4 inches compared to 2.6 on my recently reviewed Nokia N95 (aka N95-3 or N95 NAM version), and the 2.8 inch screen of the Nokia N95 8GB. Screen auto-rotation is cool, but it won’t be a unique feature to the Nokia N82 because of RotateMe 2.0 software available soon to the Nokia N95 with a built-in accelerometer. Auto Rotate settings on the Nokia N82 Availability and pricing is still unclear, but according to Ricky Cadden, the Nokia N82 specifications follows: Dimensions: 112 x 50.2 x 17.3 mm Weight: 120 g [Target] Memory: Up to 100 MB in-build, support for hot swappable MicroSD card (1GB in-box) Talk time: GSM: 280min, WCDMA: 180min (Target) Standby time: GSM: 270hrs WCDMA: 250hrs (Target) Main Display: 2.4″QVGA 240×320, 16M colors 5MPix, Autofocus, up to 20 x digital zoom. It also features auto screen rotation that Symbian-Freak claims to be better than the iPhone! The rotation is definitely smoother and looks better with the iPhone, actually to be precise with an iPhone you can actually see the rotation while the Nokia just switch from one to another mode without any kind of transition when rotating. Nokia N82 with a shiny metallic look. I would like to get my hands on this phone to see how good the flash is. Real Xenon flash. Integrated camera protection Secondary camera: CIF I have a guess that the Nokia N82 will be announced next week on November 13th, because of an email invitation I received. It’s the first Nseries phone with bright xenon flash for better night photos. More details on that in the next post. —Related Articles at the Nokia blog:I’m Going To Finland For An Nseries Launch Next Week!Highly Possible Nokia N82 Nseries Launch in a Few HoursNokia N82Download Nokia N93 Firmware UpdateNokia N95 Preview from All About SymbianPreview of Nokia N95 by Symbian France
