Catch the scenes after break. Too bad the iPhone got a lot more shine during the show than the N95. Now I’ve had a few sightings of Nokia Nseries devices usually around music videos, movies and the internet, but I never spotted one on a TV series. Hmmm…If you had a choice, would you use a phone with a 2 megapixel camera without flash or a phone with a 5 megapixel camera with a flash?

Project Open Adobe Screen
Mark Doherty/Adobe writes in his blog more details and thoughts to non-PC developers (mobile being important one). “The Open Screen Project is dedicated to driving consistent rich Internet experiences across televisions, personal computers, mobile devices, and consumer electronics.” “The Open Screen Project is working to enable a consistent runtime environment — taking advantage of Adobe® Flash® Player and, in the future, Adobe AIR™ — that will remove barriers for developers and designers as they publish content and applications across desktops and devices, including phones, mobile Internet devices (MIDs), and set top boxes.” It is supported by technology leaders, including Adobe, ARM, Chunghwa Telecom, Cisco, Intel, LG Electronics Inc., Marvell, Motorola, Nokia, NTT DoCoMo, Qualcomm, Samsung Electronics Co., Sony Ericsson, Toshiba and Verizon Wireless, and leading content providers, including BBC, MTV Networks, and NBC Universal. Some of the things this means: Removing restrictions on use of the SWF and FLV/F4V specifications Publishing the device porting layer APIs for Adobe Flash Player Publishing the Adobe Flash® Cast™ protocol and the AMF protocol for robust data services Removing licensing fees - making next major releases of Adobe Flash Player and Adobe AIR for devices free Adobe has announced details about the Open Screen Project, pretty important news for mobile Flash Lite developers as well.

Europe Lite and US, percentages devices in Flash Western
Via Bill, the percentages for Flash Lite devices in Western Europe and US have been released: The total percentage (for 6 countries) of Flash Lite enabled devices on the market, is about 15%. “Data for this PDF was provided by mmetrics and shows the active number of Flash Lite devices as of January 2008 for six countries: US, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK. N95: First The With Rock Castle Area Unique Hike Nokia
The first hike was in Castle Rock Unique Area in Philipstown, NY, which is about an hour and a half north of New York City. The introductory hike was 2 miles with a vertical height of 700 feet. Streaming live videos during a hike with the Nokia N82 in the United States will be useless. The next hike for next Sunday is at Popolopen Gorge with the distance of 5 miles and 1,000 feet vertical rise. You can view one of the videos below. Geotagging Photos With Location Tagger I was also running Location Tagger on my Nokia N95 while taking pictures. For the next hike, I need to bring better shoes. I know the Nokia N82 was marketed for this kind of usage, but any phone running S60 3rd edition is capable. It’s good to know that I was able to do all of this at the same time using a device that I carry around every day: my mobile phone. My boots were too heavy and it tired me out right after we started. Recording Hike With Sports Tracker The hike was recorded with GPS data using Nokia Sports Tracker. All the photos were tagged with the current GPS location. You can also change views or zoom in. May not be visible in RSS readers. Streaming Live With Qik I was also streaming live videos using Qik, but decided only to do it in safer trails because I did not want to get hurt if I lost my footing and needed to hold on to something. I don’t want to get too technical with this post so head over to S60 to learn more about it. Take a look at the photos below and Flickr will show you the location in the photo’s exif data. I’m currently taking a hiking class and will be hiking every Sunday until May. Below is a map of the hike showing geotagged photos right on the map. On the upcoming Nseries phones, this will be done automatically without installing another program! I’m sorry, but NOKIA FTW! Hmmm… it seems to me that using 3G on a phone these days are old.
